Happy Sabbath family,

As you get ready for a new week, I want to share with you the power of rest. Rest is self-care. Self-care is self-love. When you rest, you’re not working. You’re not doing tasks. You’re not sleeping. Your mind isn’t racing. You’re detached from school, work, business, conversations, chores and making your next move.

Your mind and body are relaxed. You rest because your mind and body needs a break from all you give it to do. You rest because it gives you a chance to destress and regroup. You rest because it gives you moments to reflect and be thankful. You rest because if you don’t, you’ll burnout.

Now, Rest doesn’t happen by accident. It’s intentional.

How to rest intentionally:

  1. Be in a quiet place (remove distractions such as electronics)
  2. Choose the time to rest (even if it’s just 20 minutes)
  3. Concentrate on just “being present” (no thinking of what to do tomorrow or later)
  4. Enjoy your rest!!
